The Muddy Boots Family Nature Club provides young children and their families a variety of opportunities to directly experience nature and develop a connection to the natural world. We believe that young children learn about their environment by interacting with it so we provide hands-on activities and programs where children and adults will increase their understanding of the natural world. Children will develop a sense of wonder and experience the joy of discovery while adults will gain tools and knowledge to support their role as a guide for their children.
Muddy Boots Family Nature Club will accomplish this through:
- Holding Muddy Boots Family Nature Club sponsored events at natural spaces in and around Portland, Oregon
- Connecting families with youth and family nature programs held by our Partner Organizations
- Providing families with nature oriented activities to guide their own outdoor adventures
- Sharing resources, research and other tools to help children develop compassion and empathy for the earth and its inhabitants
